Polands minister for International Affairs and Administration didn't hide his disappointment of the failed expansion of the Schengen-area.

Poland’s minister for International Affairs and Administration Jerzy Miller took distance from Finland and the Netherlands’ unwillingness to accept Rumania and Bulgaria as new members of the Schengen-area.

- Both Bulgaria and Romania have made a huge progress in fighting corruption and organized crime, he said, and continued.

- Apparently we are willing to demand them to do many things for us, but we’re not willing to accept them to our family. I don’t think that is what solidarity is about. We’re dealing with a very big principle of the Schengen-agreement – freedom of movement. When you ask the average european, this will be one of the first advantages of EU they will mention. The freedom of movement, Miller stated disappointed.

The negotiations are moving on this afternoon, and the polish presidency will hold another briefing later tonight.
